How does 24 Pesula work?

All 24 Pesula laundrettes operate on a self-service basis. That means you can do your washing and drying when it suits you. Our laundrettes are quick and easy to use and clear instructions are always provided. We want to make our service as flexible as possible for you, so there’s no need to book a slot in advance. If a machine’s free, it’s yours! The display shows how long your programme will take.

We offer regular washing machines and specialist rug washing machines. To check that you’ve put the right amount of washing in the machine, place your hand inside the drum. If you can just fit your hand in above the washing, it’s perfect.

All our programmes are 30 minutes. The price includes laundry detergent that’s both gentle and effective. It is automatically dispensed by the machine. You can use your own stain remover if you like. It’s a good idea to apply it directly to any stains and soiled areas at home to give it time to soak in. We don’t add anything else to our washes.

All our programmes include a high speed spin cycle, which means that your items will dry quicker and are easier to manage too. Effectively removing excess water from the washing saves both time and energy. Just 30 minutes in the tumble dryer is enough. For rugs, we offer specialist lockable hanging dryers.

We find that rugs that are cleaned using one of our flatbed rug cleaners are immediately ready for use. Find out more about our flatbed rug cleaners.

Prices are clearly displayed and every machine has its own ID code for payment purposes (e.g. M1).  Making a payment is quick and simpl. Always remember to use the ID code for the washing machine you’ve chosen. When your payment has been accepted, the machine will start automatically.

All items are washed at your own risk. We recommend that you follow the manufacturer’s care instructions. Information on the most common laundry symbols is available online, including at siivous.info.

You can use 24 Pesula to wash a wide range of clothes and home fabrics. However, to ensure the health and safety of all our customers, you should not use 24 Pesula to wash oil-stained fabrics or horse blankets. We also do not offer a dry cleaning service. Please do not use our machines to clean agricultural or industrial textiles.

Laundry detergent

Laundry detergent is always included in the cost of your wash. We only use hypoallergenic and unscented detergent. It is made in Denmark by Novada, a company that’s committed to sustainability as well as product safety and performance. We never add fabric softener or bleach to our washes.

If you’re items are badly soiled, we recommend that you apply a stain remover. You may wish to do it at home to give it a chance to soak in before washing.

How long does it take

All our wash cycles take just 30 minutes. This is because our industrial grade washing machines do not heat the water, they are directly plumbed into the hot water supply. It means that your washing is thoroughly rinsed and spun, and all our wash cycles are short and efficient. Check the display to see how much time is left on your wash programme.

The drying is done by our industrial grade dryers. They can be used to dry everyday items, down pillows and duvets, sheets, curtains and other larger items in just 30–60 minutes.

If you’re cleaning rugs, you can leave them to dry in one of our drying lockers for up to 24 hours. Once you’ve placed your rugs on the hanger inside the locker, make your payment, lock the door and take the key with you.
